BIO:
Farshad Zadeh started playing piano at age 4, and made his debut with orchestra at 11 in his hometown of Princeton, NJ. He has performed in concert halls throughout the US, including Carnegie Hall in NYC and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. He was the winner of Oberlin Conservatory’s Arthur Dann Competition in 2015, and winner of the Sid Wright Competition at the University of Texas in 2018. During his pre-college years, Farshad studied piano with Larissa Korkina at the Westminster Conservatory in Princeton. He studied violin with Sherri Anderson, and played in the Stretto Youth Chamber Orchestra for many years. He earned his bachelor's degree at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Alvin Chow. He received his master's and doctorate at the University of Texas in Austin, where he studied with Anton Nel. Farshad has taught piano to students of all levels and ages, including children, young adults, college students, and adults. He has served on the piano faculty of Austin Community College, where he taught group piano as well as private students at the collegiate level. He is a faculty member at the Blue Mountain Festival, based in Emmitsburg, MD, where he coaches chamber music and serves as staff accompanist. |
